Hurricane ian Update: Update as of: Tuesday, September 27th: Our schools will continue to remain closed for the remainder of this week. We anticipate reopening school on Monday, October 3, 2022. Please stay safe. DAOF Administration Update as of: Monday, September 26th: Please read the letter below from school administration. Dear DAOF and FLCCA Families: As Florida residents, we are all aware of the challenges that can occur during and after a Tropical Storm or Hurricane. We urge you to focus on the safety of your family and loved ones first. We are closely monitoring Hurricane Ian’s current and possible future impact on Florida. Since our students and staff are located throughout the state, we want to ensure everyone’s safety. Both DAOF and FLCCA schools will be closed Tuesday, September 27 through Wednesday, September 28. Due to the staff and student travel required for in-person testing and the possible dangers associated with that travel, all in-person test sites will be closed for the remainder of the week (9/27-9/30). There will be no in-person FSA testing this week. The school office in Jacksonville will be closed, and teachers and staff will not report to work 9/27-9/28. While teachers will be unavailable, courses will remain open and families will have access to them, if they wish. We anticipate re-opening schools on Thursday, September 29, 2022; however, we will monitor the situation and communicate any changes. Again, there will be no in-person FSA testing occurring for the remainder of the week at test sites, even if we re-open schools. In addition to local media outlets, you may also visit https://www.floridadisaster.org/ for the latest information and helpful resources. We know this is a very stressful time for many of our families and we are here to support you. We will continue to keep our families notified with up to date information and understand that power outages and service disruptions may be taking place. Please let us know if you require additional support or have any questions during this time. If you have been affected by the storm, please reach out to your teachers when you are able to safely do so. Thank you for your support as we continue to work together to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and school communities.
