Hello students and families, We'd like to recognize what a great job 4th grade did, with completing their Snapshot Diagnostic on IXL! Great job everyone! Remember to continue working on IXL every week, by completing the assigned IXL. This week's focus will be on small group class changes, that may affect some students' schedules. Some students will notice a small group class added for Reading to their plans, starting this Monday, February 13th. If you see this change on your schedule, please make sure to attend this additional Class Connect. Another topic we'd like to address is Writer's Workshop. Please make sure that you are attending these afternoon classes, on Mondays and Wednesdays. We are walking students through the steps of planning, writing, and revising their argumentative/opinion essays. Keep in mind that Writer's Workshop is recorded, so if you would like to review a lesson with your Learning Coach, please do so. The materials we are using for this essay, can be found on this website, by clicking on the "Weekly Printouts" tab found above. Scroll down to writing, and you will see the documents available to download and print, under the topic "Should Cellphones be allowed or banned in Schools?" Additionally, this essay will be due before we leave on Spring break. The due date for this essay is Wednesday, March 8th. As we get closer to this date, we will notify students during Writer's Workshop, of the instructions for submitting their essay.
