Happy Harvest Fourth Grade Families,Fall Break is officially here! We hope you and your families get to enjoy some time to spend with your families and loved ones. We have an exciting new platform for reading called I-Ready. We will be introducing this platform when we return from fall break. Before you log off for the break please take a moment to review our newsletter to stay well informed about our upcoming assignments and events. Fall Break is happening November 20th-24th- There will be no class connects or assignments these days Titanic Informational Essay due November 27th- Our second informational essay of the year is complete! If your student has not submitted their Titanic essay please make sure to have them turn it in. There is a checklist on the bottom of the newsletter that can be used to make sure your student has all the parts of their essay completed. Students should have typed up their essay in a Word Document and saved the file on their computer. Directions on how to submit the file on the OLS are in the graphic below. ***There is NO flipGrid to turn in for this essay I-Ready: We will be introducing a new platform for reading called I-ready on November 27th! Students will have an I-ready Diagnostic session each day from Nov 27th- Nov 30th where they will learn how to log in and begin taking the I-ready diagnostic. This diagnostic assessment will give us more information on your child's progress and help inform our instruction and learning moving forward. Due to the assessment schedule, some Whole Group/Small Group class connects will be cancelled. In lieu of these class connects a student-paced nearpod lesson will be sent out. ***Please take a look at your student's Plan for Nov 27th-Nov 30th and note the times and days your student is expected to connect for their required I-ready session. IXL Fall Break Competition: Who can answer the MOST questions correctly during our FALL Break! We are holding a competition to see which fourth grader will answer the most correct questions on IXL. This is a great opportunity for math practice, you can review a skill we've already learned or learn a new one! The competition will start Nov 18 at 8AM and end Nov 26 at 7 pm. Challenge Accepted! https://www.ixl.com/signin/daof K12 Zone: After all the anticipation and excitement, the K12 Zone has officially launched! This is a platform where students can socialize and connect with their peers. We loved seeing them in the Zone this week making new friends and sharing with each other.
